My 8 year old daughter just got her back brace last week. We have been slowly getting her used to wearing it during the day so she can sleep in it at night. She needs to wear it for 14 hours a day and doesn't want to wear it to school (she is switching schools and will already be the new kid). Tonight was her first night trying to wear it to sleep and it did not go well. I found your video and am now getting her a body pillow to sleep with, a fun bag to carry it in, and a bunch of stickers so she can decorate it, I also think we might tye dye some undershirts for her to wear. Thank you so much for your video. I was feeling very discouraged as her parent and I know she is feeling worse. Your video has given me some great ideas to try with her to encourage her to wear it.

I also recommend wearing like baggy t-shirts too, they seem to be trendy. And getting jeans with a stretchy waste which I wear during summer or even getting jeans a size up to go over my brace :)

Ok i know im three years late, but here goes nothing. I'm getting my first back brace in a couple of weeks, and I have been wondering for so long if I will ever be able to wear this or that, do this or that, etc. This video really helped me out! Thank you! Also I love your room!

My friend has successfully diagnosed several people with EDS (as in she told them they had it and then it was confirmed by a doctor) and now I am her next victim. I have PoTS and scholiosis. Outlook grim.

I have 90° and I'm only 14.

My brace sticks out a lot I’m some places. I really want to wear jeans, but my brace sticks out at my hip, so I have to wear skirts every day. I wish I had the confidence to wear things that show my brace a little, but every since this one person patted me on the back, and asked me if my back was “deformed or something” I’ve be really self conscious of it.

So I’ve had mine for like 1 year and I only were a baggy hoodie or something with it and a lot of people wear crop tops in my grade lol and I’m just I’m the corner lol

Ty for the videos because some times I feel like I want my scoliosis journey to be over but I'm such a long way from that some times I want a buddy at school or something that can go there scoliosis journey together but no one in 5th grade has scoliosis 😭. So it hard to explain my scoliosis journey to my doctor when I hardly wear it sometimes I feel like that back brace is not doing nothing so why do I got to wear it for 22 hours all I want is a buddy to talk to🥺😭

Can other forms of EDS cause scoliosis like hypermobile EDS?

I love how most of these tops are jacket, sweater and cardigan, and it really covers the back and the brace. I wish I could pull these off lol. I don't really have the confidence but yeah I will, after my surgery. Thanks for the ideas!

Hey, I know this is like, two years ago,but do we get to keep our braces? I just think it would make a really good addition to a Halloween costume when I get it off (like a suit of armor, etc.)

this is cool, i was just looking at one of her back brace videos from 2 years ago. i got diagnosed with EDS at 4 and scoliosis around 8. i had to wear a back brace from 13-15 yr old

Thanks for sharing your experience. Your brace looks very good . Could you recommend the doc or any place that treats pectus? I am in Dallas and there are not places that understand pectus and they only give alimed brace which is not good. It made my pectus worse so I stopped the brace. Also another doctor said I cannot start pectus brace since I am scoliosis brace .

I just got my brace yesterday and I hate it U~U and I just called my friend and told her and she said it's because of bad posture -.- I was born with it and what's annoying is that she likes to point out my bad side like my fails or like what I do wrong. Annoys me so much
